In the last year, my life has changed considerably, for the better.
I ditched being a maid last January and took up call center work that I could do from home… while it was nice to work from home the job itself was a typical unappreciative 9-5. My depression came back full force!
Then in April, I stumbled upon a virtual assistant course, 90 DAY VA. While doing that, I discovered another course to become a WordPress developer and have your own business. So I took that as well and consumed the content! I will talk more about 90 DAY VA in a future post!
While doing the WordPress course, I was actively answering questions in the private FB group for students… The women behind the course, the CEO & COO, approached me and one other woman to join their team. I was officially tech support! I was being paid to continue doing what I was already doing, answering questions. Less than a month later they asked if I would like to help them with their social media. I agreed and ditched the 9-5 life for good! This was a surreal experience for me. And it still is, really.
I still manage their social media to this day, I also am in charge of their Pinterest which I will focus more on this year. I am part of the executive team! – I can’t believe it! I am part of the executive team whose mission is to teach 100,000 women and girls how to empower themselves by learning how to code! How amazing is that? I am a part of something incredible.
AND of top of this, I do run my own web development & design business, Alien Girl. I do have other business endeavors up my sleeve but I will keep that for another day. So I am staying very busy! I actually almost burned out by the end of 2020 but I had a 2-week break around the holidays and that helped me reset and relax. I am trying to work smarter rather than harder now.
I was initially going to write more than this but I think this is good enough for now.
Maybe I will be back again soon to write more.
